why do we say house and houses but we say mouse and mice????????

iknow it would sound a bit stupid but still, it would make slightly more sense. imagine everyone going round saying hice!!!!!!!!

that's just our language. there is no logical explanation to it, a lot of english doenst make much sense. that's just how it is.

Cos the English language is strange. Then again it would sound a bit weird saying Hice, then again it might be cos we're not used to it.
my road is full of hice...

Because it comes from Anglo-Saxon a predecesor of English before it mixed up with Norman French. From that declension we have child -children, ox oxen, mouse mice etc. There are not so many in comparison with added -s -es from French as the norm.

dunno, cos we live in a crazy crazy world
but how about other questions, like why has no one stopped terrorism, why do so many people die when they could be saved, why are there so many starving people in the world....
kinda makes the mouse thing unimportant huh?
