What would cause a strong odor (like burned coffee) in my 06 Focusyou can smell inside and by the exhaust pipe

I know it sounds crazy, but It smells like an empty coffee pot was left on. Once its been running for a while you can smell it inside the car and by the exhaust pipe. I took it to the dealer and it tested ok. Everyone that rides in it can smell it so I know im not nuts

The exhaust system gets very hot. It is likely that some undercoating was sprayed on it, or that the protective wax applied for shipping is burning off the exhaust. Since a Focus is not insulated that well you could likely have the odor inside. If the dealer says it is OK, then wait another week and see if it dissipates.

take your car and get it detailed inside very good, clean motor at local car wach, dunno if u want to do this spray water up into the exhaust its what i do to clean my tips on my exhaust and i see not problems after 2 yrs of doing it

SEE IF YOUR CAR HAS ANY RECALLS BUT IT COULD BE YOUR HEADGASKET MAKES THAT SMELL ALOT AND I HOPE THATS NOT WHAT IT IS AND THE DEALER WELL LIE TO YOU HOPING YOU KEEP DRIVING IT SO YOU WARRANTY RUNS OUT
