My friend says that PC gaming sucks and has no purpose for existence in the world. I think he's wrong...what's your thoughts?

That is your Friends opinion, I however like PC gaming. I do mostly FPS (First person shooters), Like CS:S and BF2, Flight Sims and some command & conquer. I can play my games, listen to music, watch a movie or do my homework. Computers are upgradeable, consoles are not. The one thing that make Consoles better is the variety of games. There used to be allot more for the PC, but since the xbox, good titles for the PC are hard to find.

They each have positives and negatives
PC gaming is great for FPS, flight simulation, online multiplayer is usually free and relitively easy to use. The down side is that you will need to upgrade roughly every two years to keep up with the game specs, you must maintain your system integrity (ie keep it virus free, replace worn parts), multiplayer on the one system is difficult and often near mpossible. (with a few exceptions)
Console gaming is great as you don't need to upgrade your hardware, you will know that games will run on it with checking requirements, simple to use, split screen games. On a downside you are limited to your controller, consoles get watered down versions of pc games (doom 3 for example on xbox), online play is good, but it isn't great.
You see, they both are great in different ways. It depends on what you want.

Pc gaming will always be better then console gaming, for a few reasons, 1) it is always upgradeable and companies are always making new parts like the new dx10 video and 2) the keyboard and mouse set up i thinbk its a bit nice than the console controllers, but of course if you like the controller you can buy one.

it depends on your preferences. with the next gen consoles computers are little behind on horsepower but they are still good. depends if you like a controller or joystick/mouse. for me i like my xbox360 way more for gaming than a computer but i have friends that say the opposite.

i think that you r right, your friend might be wrong because it has better graphics than the xbox 360, and it has free online game play.
