how do i get it to where i can have sounds on my computer when i open a window and minimize it or close it?

go to control panel, then sounds and audio devices. Then click on the sounds tab and there you go!!

this is pretty simple mate,just go start>control panel>sounds and audio devices>then press the sounds tab and go down the list to minimize and then use the browse option to locate some different sound file,but bear in mind the sound files windows uses have to be wav format ,but there are some wav files avalible on the internet for download so you can give that a go
and basically you do the same method with each entry in the sounds,you can even change the start up sound by adding a new music composition ,but again make sure its a wav file,however there are converters avalible on the internet,look at http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=audio%20converters&tag=srch
,you can see there are programs that can convert mp3 format to wav and then you can use the music for a start up sound

check setting and yes you must the speakers on as well to hear any sound.
