Yes, if the baby comes early, you NEED the carseat. The hospital won't release the baby unless you prove you've got the carseat installed in your car properly.

If I want my baby out. I'll GET MY BABY OUT OF THE HOSPITAL.

If her due date is only one month away, it's definetely possible for her to go into early labor. You should have all the supplies you need by now. Just think: if she goes into labor today, will she have everything she needs? If the answer is no, get to shopping!
Good luck!

Now would be a good time. She could go anytime between now and her due date. You definitely need to have the carseat, and a stroller could wait however they do have teh infant carrier/stroller combo which does come in handy although they do outgrow the carrier/carseat by the time they reach 20 lbs. So it may be worth it to just buy the all in one car seat that are for infants and convert to toddler and seat belt position. That way the stroller won't be too expensive. You also want to make sure that the stroller does allow the lay down position because the baby won't be sitting up correctly until he/she is at least 9-10 months old. I don't think the umbrella stroller is a good idea until they are at the very least walking with no assistance.
Good luck to you and your daughter. I hope everything works out for you, your daughter and the baby.

Yes, you should definately get the car seat now. Your baby could come earlier than you expect...especially if you are only 13. The travel systems that include an infant seat and a stroller are great. This way, when you go somewhere and the baby is asleep, you just take the car seat from the car and snap it on to the stroller and you never have to wake the baby. Also, the infant seat fits onto a grocery cart for easy use in the store. The stroller part is perfect and most of them recline for your baby to lay down when they get too big for the infant seat. Wherever you live..if they have Big Lots there...they have a great deal on an Eddie Bauer travel system..as they can be a bit costly.
Also, most states require you to have the car seat and bring it to the hospital with you when you go into labor...before they let you take your baby home.
Good luck and Congrats.

Buy them now. It's better to be prepared because she may come earlier than expected. The stroller that is a combination stroller/carrier or car seat. That way you don't have to buy all these separate. Also you want one where the baby faces you, so you can always keep an eye on them. (Example: babies sometimes choke and may not be able to get the cry out.) If you can't get the combination then the laydown is ok, but be careful about keeping a pacifier or bottle in babies mouth while laying down. They can choke easier.

what you need to do is to call your local police station and see if they have any infant car seats left.. usually to new mothers they will give you a FREE car seat all they do is just show you how to properly install the seat in the car.. I'm serious i now have the next size up from the infant seat.. it was totally free and brand new out of the box.. just like we had gotten it from the store..
all you need to remember is that the baby should fit securely in the seat belt..

Yes get the car seat now. Hey the little cutie could be born in 2 weeks and you would be unprepared. No use waiting till it happens, be prepared. It's time to have everything ready for the arrival by now and congratulations.

I would buy the convertible type seat. Britax's Marathon is pricey, but you can have the baby sit facing rear til 35 pounds, then facing front they can sit harnessed til 65 pounds.

Yes, you need to get it all set up, and you need it to be able to leave the hospital. The Eddie Baure ones are great.
