I thoroughly loved my work when I was working - retired now and thoroughly enjoying that too. However, I think it is important to keep life in perspective.
"Work is what you do so that someone will give you money so that you can do the things you really want and need to do. It is a real plus if your work is something you really enjoy and it makes you feel satisfied and productive."

Most probably - the notion that we can select whatever career we want is a nonsense. So too is the notion that if only you work hard enough (meritocracy) then you will land your dream job..
There are many factors which mean that life is not like a game of monopoly where we all have equal chances/opportunities.. you know you have a fab job if it is one you would do even if you DID NOT need the £££..

I worked for 8 years in nightclubs as an entertainer, dancing, stilting doing fire etc and my primary motivation wasn't money. Which was good as it only just covered my bills, i did it for the satisfaction of doing it. I'm now retraining and the job i do at the moment is primary money motivated. The job I'm training for isn't, my primary motivation for wanting this job is that it's always something I've wanted to do, the money is enough to cover my bills and put a bit aside. Which for me is enough.

Unfortunately unless you won the lottery, I think most people only go to work to earn money. If your lucky you might even enjoy your job too!

How old are you, to ask such a question? I just had to answer this in order to reprimand you. Where is your father? Asleep? Who fed and clothed you all your growing life? - Why the Hell would people Work if it wasn't for MONEY! For Love, you Fool, that will really buy the groceries and pay the mortgage. Grow up F.A.S.T. before the rest of us are supporting YOU on Welfare.

I thought it was a fact everyone went to work simply to earn money..
I do not know anyone who is going to go to work for free..that is why it is called "work"..

That's just a stupid question.
Everybody is going to work to earn money.
They are not going there becuase they are lonely or
they don't have anything else to do.
In these days you need to have money so the only
solution is the hard way....work!
