I have pondered over this personally for days and even had a debate with friends but still can't seem to find the answer....

It's kind of a moot question since neither can fight each other in reality. The tiger would definitely be out of his element in the ocean and would either be outclassed or drown. On land, the shark would just flop around while it was being eaten alive maybe snapping at the tiger now and again. If both animals were able to live in both environments, I would have to pick the shark. On land, the shark's skin and body fat would protect him from the tiger's claws and superficial bites. I say superficial because the tiger wouldn't be able to get his small mouth around anything on a shark but the fins. In the ocean, the shark's superior swimming ability would simply leave the tiger in the dust or should I say a cloud of blood. What do you think?

As everyone has said, it would depend on the location. But there wouldn't really be a fight. If I was a tiger fighting a shark on land, I would just sit back, out of range, and let nature run its course. Likewise, if I was a shark fighting a tiger in the water then nature would again run its course. Now, if I'm the tiger in the water or the shark on land then I'm basically screwed.

Where would the fight take place? A shark will die out of water even if the tiger does nothing. And a tiger in the ocean...same results with no effort whatsoever.

Wow dude you have way too much time on your hands. This fight would most likely never occur in any natural setting and the final decision would come down to where the fight takes place. In the middle of the desert, I give it to the tiger, in the middle of the ocean, most likely the shark.....there are many more variables to consider other than the two animals alone

In the water, the shark. On land the tiger, unless it was an extremely large shark and got in a lucky bite. Of course the shark would die anyway, since it's on land! lol

I imagine that it depends entirely on the battle ground. If it was in water, the shark would win, on land, the tiger.
