How would you balance your life with your wife & children?

It's a matter of balancing things. One would hope that the children were semi-planned for.
In this day and age, as it has been for over forty years now, it tooks two incomes to achieve the 'American Dream'. That in and of it's self is a shame.
The responsibilities need to be divided as evenly as possible. Based on each persons current strength and future learning curve. Another key factor that MUST be acknowledged is for the couple to share private time. This needs to occur at LEAST once week. There may be no choosing between 'housewife or MD', that decision was made quite awhile ago, now wasn't it?!
There is no easy answer, it needs to be logically discussed. Not that it be 'cast in stone', for we must remain flexible, things change. If they didn't, you would not be asking this question!
Write a list of each others stength an weakness, prepare one for you and one on your spouse. Compare the lists and build from there. REMEMBER to be flexible, and no need to argue, be civil.
It's not going to be easy, BUT anything worth having never is.
Life is not designed to be easy, it's here to teach us lesson to build a strong union and prepare for what the future will bring. A little prayer to the Deity never hurts either.

Housewife...or I'd stay home and be a Househusband if she insisted on working outside the house. Somebody has to be home with the kids. It's unrealistic to think you can have the best of both worlds. My wife has an electrical engineering degree but stays home with our 3 kids and she wouldn't have it any other way. She's started a home-based business as a way to make some extra money and get out of the house once in a while and she's really been enjoying that too.

Out of the two, I would say Housewife. But better if she has an okay career but also takes care of the house. The husband can do the same. Marriage is beautiful if there's a lot of sharing of responsibilities going on~ So when you grow old, you can hold hands and say "we did all this ... together..."

Housewife. It is imperative that children have a parent at home IF POSSIBLE. My wife and I sacrificed a lot to make it so she could stay home. And believe me, if she made more money that I did, I would stay home. Though I know now that I wouldn't be as good as she is with the kids all day.

Somewhere in between

even though a woman has kids - she should still want to be successful and work on something else. Yes kids are a huge job - but hopefully a woman would want to do some other endeavor that would make her be successful

HouseWife , nothing can be sexier than that, because there will be more focus on the family and me rather than focusing on clients. however, Part time job is fine.

I think a doctor would be cool, just cause sex could get pretty kiny with the things she knew!!! but as long as i love her, she could be a garbage woman and that would be ok too.
