McCains view on the war in Iraq is to send more troops. It won't work however because its an ethnic violence problem and how do you go about stopping people from killing one another if they don't want to. Its every man or group for itself. McCain changes his political views like the wind. So personally I would never vote for him.

McCain is funny because he has been on both sides of this issue. Last I heard, McCain was against troop withdraw and actually approving the increase of boots on the ground in the short term. He is a hard one to define.

He wants to send in a lot more American soldiers to "win" the war. This is from his trying to make sense of his long imprisonment in Vietnam. People need to make sense of some things that do not make sense. In the case of Vietnam, it was another war that should not have happened. People who were in it want to blame lack of will or troops for losing it.
However, it was another case of a civil war in which we should have not become involved.
Who is the "enemy" in Iraq? Sunis, Shiites? Al Quaida?
Our troops are in the same position as a cop that makes a domestic disturbance house call and is set upon by the combative husband and wife.
