The same way if you are straight, I dont' quite get it, do you think that Gay's do not posses feelings? I mean you know if someone is your real partner when they treat you with respect and dignity, they love you no matter what and you return those feelings, gay or straight. Gay's do not have different emotions, it is not like they are aliens to this country and to being human.

Do you mean because most gay people can still not marry? And because most gay people cannot marry, you have no way of knowing for certain if someone you love would be willing to take that leap of faith into marriage? That's what I'm reading into your question. Most gay people do not have exactly the same sort of marker to use as evidence that the person they're dating is their "real partner", as you put it.

A lot of heterosexual women have a hard time getting men to commit to marriage, but no problem getting some guy to live with them. And that really is a sort of test, in my opinion. Whether someone is willing to formally enter into a legally recognized partnership that is intended to be lifelong.

OK, so if that is what you're getting at, my answer would be that you've just got to pay attention to the person you're with, learn what sort of character they have, whether or not they have the same values as you, whether they keep their word, etc....... These are the things that would let you know that you can trust them when they say they're with you for the long-haul, just as a legal spouse would be for a heterosexual.

Are you talking about a soul mate? If so that is something so instinctual that it really defies definition. To me a soul mate is your lover, brother, protector and life all rolled into one. It is essentially extremely powerful and unfortunately we do not always have the courage to stay with our soul mates, as we fail to recognise the signs and let them slip away. The best thing to say is live life for the moment and enjoy the people you're with because there is no point regretting!

what kind of silly question is that? Forever, the answer to that question is that when it happens, you will know. Now you got the same answer everyone gets to that one. Including the straight people.

I don't understand what you're asking. If you're dating someone, and you are both committed, they would be your partner.

For starters, you ask them if they've ever made clones of themselves or are planning to in the future.
