I'm not a computer literate person, so please help me out in a way a 13 year girl can understand.

My computer is and dumber than I am! It freezes all the time, it's always delayingslowing my typing, and programs are taking longer to load. What's the problem? The programs often "Stop Responding" and I often get a pop-up saying, the "Virtual Memory is too low". I've tried what I can; deleting programs I don't use, scanning it with virus protecters and spyware protecters, but nothing has worked. Puh-lease help! Thanks!!

Install, run, it will delete a lot of temporary files, play around with the options.

The easiest thing to do is list your Operating System, if it is windows XP then go to my computer; then click on the c drive, then click "windows", then click "prefetch" press ctrl+A and then SHIFT+ delete. This will clean out the prefetch and speed up the computer. I recommend doing this weekly. Also clean out your temporary internet files. To do this open internet explorer, then "tools" then "internet options" under temporary internet files there are three buttons, click "delete cookies" after that completes, then click "delete files". This too will help you speed up the computer. There are some other things too that can be done, but I would have to get into an IM conversation to walk you through them.

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

First, check to be sure that you don't have spyware/malware on your system. This is one of the biggest culprits when it comes to slowing a system. If your computer is not at its maximum memory capacity, upgrading memory is often the single best bet for the money in terms of getting better speed.

best idea would be to just format the machine and this will give the machine a good cleanup, or u could install a program called system mech pro6 from http://www.iolo.com
it has a 30 day trail but worth using.
