im getting a corset for a party in a few weeks . ive lost weight and want a corset for under my dress to pull me in and look tight. i was just wondering do corsets pull you in at the hips as well as the waist. as i have quite large hips. also whats the strongest corset which will have the most effect. i want his to be used to train my waist also. thx very much

Corsets pull you in at the waist. Not the hips. Giving you an hourglass figure. Very pretty look.

They pull you in at the waist only and make your breasts more prominent, but they do not slim the hip and butt area. If you want your hips snug you should get a full body slimmer/shapers that will cover your whole torso, those are easy to find a most department stores.
The strongest corsets are questionable since there are many good manufacturers. Most of what you find at run of the mill department stores is meant for show only. If you want to get a good corset, look online, specifically at fetish and s&m type sites.

I find that most corsets make the waist smaller but accent the hips more. If you are looking to minimize your hips I suggest control top stocking or panties, they really do a fantastic job of keeping it all tucked in there, and you can wear the corset on top of that too!!

the corset will pull you in at the hips if put on and cinched correctly
Try wearing the corset every other day and try to cinch it tighter each day to properly train, but not so tight you feel miserable,
ask some one to help you cinch it tighter.
additional with a corset, You should wear either full fashion of traditional RHT stockings with open shoes to compliment the whole Pin-up fashion look you are going for.

No, corsets only pull you in at the waist- in fact, wearing a corset will probably make your hips look even bigger. I think your best bet is to visit Victoria's Secret and look at their Body Shapers. They have all kinds of underthings that nip you in at various body parts, and this oone thing is like a little leotard that goes from your bra to mid-thigh and sort of sucks everything in and shapes it. It's quite uncomfortable, though, and you probably won't have much luck eating with it on at the party, but it will look really nice and smooth out everything.

well if you live in the bay area i could suggest my favorite shop for that sort of thing... they have very well made corset... im not sure if they work on the hips too... i too have wide hips... and remember when dealing with corsets dont go to small too fast as that causes undo strain on your body... its stresses your organs... get to a point where its tight and if you want to take off more inches you can take an inch every hour... but dont go too small... if you find any good stores anywhere else let me know... hope my info was helpful... feel free to ask anything anytime...
