can the 20 gig memory be upgraded on the ps3 and if so when will the memory comeout?

No, if you want all the features of the platnum version, you have to get the platnum version. There is no expantion bay like the PS2 had.

probably not because the memory is built into the system, but maybe Sony will make an add on like Microsoft.
