If you murder a law enforcement officer in any state, you re pretty much screwed, its a capital crime, and any state will be more than happy to hand down a life sentence, or a death sentence

Well I believe the laws about murder are equal no matter who is murdered. But sometimes sentences are harsher when it involved an authority figure or respected person in the community.

in law they are the same.... but when you are being sentenced, the judge will give you a harsher sentence because you murdered a policeman. Same goes with a police dog, EMT, political officer. Because of their importance to society, your punishment will be greater, but it is not guaranteed, just likely

It carries a heavier sentence than murdering a civilian. I would assume life if you are convicted.

They'll put EVERYONE on the case. They will hunt you down and arrest you. IF you survive that, they will execute you... after a fair and speedy trial.
