G-strings= underwear with coverage front and back that have thin strings going over the hip (most coverage)
V-strings=G-string with less fabric in front and back. forming a slender "V" with fabric patches in front and back. but not slender enough to creep up crack of butt.
Thong= least amount of fabric up front creating a small V but a thin fabric piece going around back that settles itself into the crack of the butt.

A thong is larger than a g-string in both front and back. The band of a thong is usually wider, almost ribbon sized, and there's more coverage in the back at the top of your butt. A g-string is simply a string around the waist with absolutely no coverage in back; in the front, it's a very tiny piece of material that just covers your labia.

I think the g-strings are just the ones that just a string all the way and the v-string is the ones that are string from the beginning and it forms v at the end.
