Well I'm from TN and its obvious he didn't lose because of race, but because he was a bad politician who never showed up to vote on the things he claimed were important to him, plus, he was liberal running in a conservative state. Why don't black people win that much in Tennessee? Maybe in the past it was racism. Now if they run it is as a Democrat, and those don't win Senate seats in TN. If a black Republican had run against a white Democrat, I bet yah the Republican would have won!

Oh and Jim W, when you actually live in TN, then you can criticize the actual Senate race yourself. "They could not bring themselves to vote black?". Apparently you think the race was not Dem v Rep, but Black v White. Why must you be so racist, as to think a Senate campaign is about whether or not a black or a white man will win. It was about their parties, the issues they supported! Get off the racism Jim W! If he was a conservative black man he'da won. Voting for a black man simply because he is black, in the name of equality, is racism and you know it. But any way to bash the conservatives and the southerners is alright with you Jim. Get over yourself

The reason Bob Corker won the Senate race in Tennessee is because he was the best candidate. He was born and raised in Tennessee, a self made businessman (we need more of them in Washington) not a professional politician raised in Washington, DC. Stop trying to play the race card.

After the Civil War there was a big push for equality, which gradually died down. Jim Crow laws sprang up and the North didn't do anything much about it.

Sad.

Because for decades the black vote was suppressed through Jim Crow laws, restrictive voting requirements, etc. Those laws were the result of a large influx of Blacks into state and local government after the civil war.

Did any of you hear Ford's concession speech? That was an amazing display of humility, optimism, gratitude, and faith. The one thing he did NOT do was blame his loss on the racially-motivated attack ads from his GOP opponent. I wish I lived in TN and could have voted for him.

The fact that he was leading in the polls right up until that "Call Me" ad began playing DOES tell me that racism played a part. Racism is alive and well in America, unfortunately.

The vote was not about which one was better looking. Ford definitely would have won THAT vote.

Get real.

I agree with Alex, but I think he put way too much thought into answering this ridiculous question.
