...would it not be a little more rewarding to accept some real buttfucking via e-mail from people who wish to defend their friends on here?...

I can vaguely remember being really harassed by this woman in the Woman's Studies section a few months ago. She followed me around the site for a bit, criticising everything I said, but never allowed me to get one back at her.

She's been well and truly had now though.

I don't accept e-mail, but then I don't send personal e-mail either. I don't want every nutter under the sun sending me personal e-mail, particularly BNP racists who I will always criticise. My yahoo e-mail address might identify me as I have a fairly unusual surname, so I prefer the anonymity of the Sceptic persona.

I think it would be only fair not to allow me to see and use other peoples' e-mail addresses, since I prefer to withhold mine. I suppose I could open a different e-mail account with a different name - but that would be equally cowardly!

I am never horrible about anyone on this site, the reason I don't allow my email or IM is because I did when I first came on here but got inundated by real religious nutters and sickos and it freaked me out, I changed my email address and blocked it, I am prepared to give decent people my email address but its not for public knowledge anymore because of the ones who are nutters, I'm not a coward Lottie, just very careful now.

I do agree with you. I got an ugly e-mail from someone and I had not even answered their question..in fact..I could not find their question. I tried to e-mail a reply, but he did not allow that. What a wimp!! He could dish it out but could not take it. I answer and if someone is offended, they can e-mail me anytime. Some folks need to take the bad with the good!

If you've seen the proof with your own eyes and read the words with your own eyes and the proof was left all over their computer then no.Unless you know of how someone can set someone up by stealing their computer and returning it to them shortly afterwards. You know, breaking into someone's computer is a crime.

Yep I agree. I must admit though, I've only just opened my IM but that's because I'm useless on computers and I've just realised how to do it! Derr, I have a brain like Dorothy's Scarecrow!

No! it's sensible, there are too many nutters on here,i couldn't be bothered reading their crap.I think it's better to do it through q&a.I never email anyone, either.I think it's better to keep everything in the public forum, that way it seems more impersonal.

I guess if you have nothing to hide you can set up your IM and Email to show.. but then again lots of people have no lives and would most def take advantage of the fact and just annoy everyone else.. so, no.. i don't believe its cowardly.. its just a precaution :)

Your right of course.

You usually find the people who are snide about whatever rarely have e-mail enabled.

Take it like a man .
