it's up to you. it's a personal choice. if you feel comfortable going to the wake, go. if not, just go to the funeral.

The wake is perfectly fine to be the only one you attend...having been in this situation a few times only at the other side of it I can pretty well assure you that the entire time will be a blur to her and although she may remember you attending, she likely won't worry which one it was you did come to.
The main thing is offering your condolences and letting her know that you are thinking of her in this time of loss.
Attending the funeral would normally be something you'd do for a close friend in this situation but really, there is no right or wrong choice one to choose.
Take care

Go to the viewing hours. The wake happens after the funeral to celebrate the persons life by close family and friends and the funeral is also more personal. Send your sympathy through flowers and a card to let you know you care.

I say funeral because it's shorter then the wake. If you go to the wake it's alot more sader because people can view the body and people are crying saying their last good byes. Something about knowing that your seeing them for the last time makes it alot harder for people to accept. The funeral has a short mass then off to the cemetary. Sorry to hear about your pals mom.

A wake is generally intended as a celebration of life, in which you party like rock stars in honor of a dead friend. Since the co-worker's mother was not a friend of yours, it would be difficult for you to celebrate her life.
A funeral is generally intended as a mourning of death, in which you dress in black, and offer condolences to the friends and family of the departed. I would suggest this more formal service as the proper place to go.
Of course, if you and your co-worker party like rock stars when you hang out, or if you have no nice black outfits, it might be better to go to the wake, and nothing is stopping you from going to both.

Do you circulate to own college or perhaps positioned on uniform to college? if so, you are able to positioned on that to funeral for beneficial. If no longer, positioned on something modest and black. White shirt, black blazer, and a black skirt it extremely is bit below your knees. you should upload a small black ribbon at your collar in case you like. or possibly a dress could be wonderful. If it extremely is too chilly, only replace skirt to pants. positioned on effective black leather-based footwear and you're set. i think of it extremely is extremely respective which you're so traumatic approximately this...yet i'm beneficial your grandfather could be happy as long as you will take place at his funeral. Take care.

Both. My fiance's father just passed away 2 weeks ago. There were friends there that he hasn't seen in 20 years and they attended both. But it's whatever you are more comfortable doing. I'm sure she'll see it as a great source of friendship coming from you. She'll need it, that is for sure.

The wake. Funerals are generally confined to those close to the deceased, wakes are for anyone who is affected by the death, directly or otherwise. Since you are affected by your coworker, that would fit you.

its more appropriate for you to attend the wake. you will still be showing your sympathy but the funeral is more appropriate for close family and friends.

I'd suggest going to the wake to pay your respects. I usually go to only the wake, when it's for someone I did not know too well.
