Yes I listen...I am an open minded liberal and sometimes I even agree with him. People bash what they do not care to understand. I think your question is very important. Do people with their staunch opinions actually check out both sides? The educated ones do. GREAT QUESTION.

Yes I started listening to him because I always heard that it was hate radio. I always like to get information from the source. Well so far have not heard any hate speech and discover he makes a lot of sense and is a very positive and upbeat individual. So my conclusion is whenever you hear someone dismissing another individual the motives might be from ignorance of the facts. The same curiosity also had me check out Talk America.

No clue if anyone does listen to Rush - I'm a Conservative Republican who has never seen his show or radio show, or what ever he is on.....
On the other side of that coin - I get bashed for what Rush says and for supposedly agreeing with him. Could someone ask your opinion as an individual before lumping all people into a group?
Stereotyping and rhetoric shows the ignorance of some people every time.

I am sure that some liberals watch Rush Limbaugh or listen to his show. Rush and his ilk design shows to raise blood pressure for bored truckers driving across the country. You see, having watched Rush and listened to shows like his while driving across the country, I realized that, although the shows make for poor information sources (for example, issues discussed that I had direct experience with that contradicted the half-assed reporting they offered), they do strive to piss off all sides of their audiences: (1) the ignorant side with false concerns; (2) the informed side with the fact that Rush managed to screw up his data. You also have Rush and folks like him that piss off (a) conservatives with fears of a red scare and (b) liberals with doing a lousy job of describing what they are actually about. What is really interesting about the audience is that you can have combinations of these two sets - the most interesting being the group 2a - conservatives that realize Rush screws up his facts on a regular basis, but still bother to listen to him because they agree with his politics or are learning how to better deceive the larger, ignorant group that they so easily manipulate to get what they want.
What I find fascinating about your question is that you seem not to realize that Rush WANTS his name bashed alot so that he can better appeal to the losers that so desperately want to believe every last thing he has to say. It's also probably that group that can relate to Rush telling everyone that drugs are bad but sympathize with his oxycotin abuse.
Anyhow, it got boring to me, so I quit watching. It's intellectual junk food - no nutrional value (for either conservative or liberal) since it's mostly BS.

I read his website from time to time. I agree with him on some things like immigration, but don't like his nasty tone. Nobody is ever right or wrong all the time, and he can never find a single good thing to say about the opposition. Even Michael Moore in Dude, Where's My Country said there are good things about conservatives. Limbaugh has lowered the tone of public discourse and helped divide the country.

Every so often I like to listen to him. It gives me ammo for my blogs.
~Oh, man. I'm listening to Rush Limbaugh right now, have been since 10:00 am. This guy is so far up his own ***, I don't even know how he draws breath to feed the ill-informed grey matter in his head. He is claiming to be the source of all media; all others look to Rush before they even know what to report on, before they even know what is going on in the world. Thank the heavens that there is a glutinous, hill-billy heroin (Oxycontin) addict to lead the way down the correct and shinning path of American righteousness. How many times has this man got his facts completely wrong? He is not a stupid man, he knows how to pander to his listeners preconceived prejudices and ideas. However, all the while he is misinforming them. For shame. He insists to his listeners that it is the left who engages in name calling while debating, yet it is Rush selling bumperstickers that say, "Still Voting Democrat? You're Stuck On Stupid." Rush is famous for making statements which miss the point and subject completely. A fabulous example is his description of the horrible abuse of prisoners in Iraq, dismissing it as pranks like those of a fraternity.
RUSH: "Exactly. Exactly my point! This is no different than what happens at the skull and bones initiation and we're going to ruin people's lives over it and we're going to hamper our military effort, and then we are going to really hammer them because they had a good time. You know, these people are being fired at every day. I'm talking about people having a good time, these people, you ever heard of emotional release? You of heard of need to blow some steam off?" I listened to him for a while, but pretty quickly discovered that I had better things to do with my time. I don't need Rush to tell me what's going on in the world, and his slant on everything is obviously biased. I tend to look for unbiased sources of news, which are really hard to find. Though I have discovered that if you watch Fox News and CNN simultaneously, you'll get the same stories, practically verbatim. It's the talking heads and editorials that are biased, not the direct news reporting.

I have listened to him from time to time, but in my opinion he is out of the mainstream, he says things that are to the far right, just as I think some liberal radio hosts say things that are on the far left. Having said that I think that Rush as well as other political talking heads attack ad hominem instead of attacking or questioning the real issues. So yes as a liberal I listen to him (occasionally), but no I don't take him to seriously.

I know a guy who worked in his house doing some painting Rush has a porn collection , vibrators and assorted sex toys in his house .Now being a liberal myself and having had the occasional experience with sexual partners that shall I say enjoyed a rather non traditional sex life that included all sorts of things one would only find in an adult store , i can say from experience that people who do these things are not conservatives at all .
Rush is and has always been a liberal who makes a living by posing as a conservative on the radio .
He has made millions pandering to conservatives and doing drugs and enjoying what some would consider a perverse and liberal sexual appetite
He is like most of the ministers and religious people on television today .Selling one thing and doing another .
To answer the question yes I do listen to Rush and many other conservatives . I think everyone who is in the right frame of mind can enjoy this form of entertainment that panders to the ignorant and superstitious among us .

They should. They should pay attention to the opposition before denouncing whatever it is that they don't know or understand.
Rush is always billed as inferior hate radio. That's spin. We listen and read with gritted teeth to the crazy, topsy turvy unreality of the liberals. But we know where they stand in order to reject their points. How will baby libs know if they get information from their elders, and peers?
Rush is informative, and entertaining. You have to listen to judge whether his side of the story is for you.
