I love it. It is one day that is sponsored by adbusters.com I believe. Down with mindless consumerism. Make life more about ideas rather than things.

Buy Nothing Day is the day after thanksgiving, and it's a protest against American consumerism.

I'm all for it, but that decision is made in part because I don't have any money to spend on things anyway.

I don't buy it.

Anti-consumerism is the weakest expression of dollar-voting protest. It isn't even directed at anything. Boycott everything for what demand? and then you can't sustain the boycott, so you just shoot yourself in the foot.

Go live in the forest on morning dew and mushrooms.
What, you don't want to go...?
Why are you still here...

My whole life has become “buy nothing day.’ I am trying something new for my life, not being a consumer. It is like our society doesn’t give a choice; you are either a consumer or your dead. I am choosing to stop spending money on useless crap. There should be a support group, consumers anonymous. I hope you guys really try to do it.

Yes, i agree, let's stop buying stuff and drive our economy into another great depression.
What fun will that be!
Then every day will be " Buy Nothing Day" because no one will be able to afford anything
