i have a cd lens cleaner(dry brush) . i tried it in my dvd writer drive, will it effect the drive in anyway???

u can use the cd in any cd drive and sese is wrong dont ever use alcohol to clean lens.

nothing great. The cd is used to clean lens. it does not know that which lens it is cleaning. You can use it.

They are preety much the same technology even if they use diffrent data volumes.
you can use it
but i sugest to open the thing and clean the lense by your self (use 95% alcohol if it is legal). That way you can rest for more time than with regular cleaning.
If the device is still under warranty do not open it.

Poor quality DVD cleaner will creat problem. You may try a branded DVD cleaner again.

Manually open the drive and clean with a semi-wet soft cloth.
