I want to get a remote starter installed. All I can find are places that sell the part. Is this so simple that any repair shop can do it, or should I be looking for a place that specializes in remote starters?

You want to find a place that has experience and some expertise in these installations, because otherwise, you risk having something go wrong, like a short circuit that can result in lots of problems, such as the car's main control computer going bad (Hundreds of dollars to replace)--and any such problem will not be covered by your warranty. In fact, an incorrect installation could void your warranty.

The typical maximum "parasitic current draw" for a car after it has been parked for 15 minutes or so is about 1/4 Ampere (250 MilliAmperes). So your Audi is drawing about 1 and 3/4 Amps too much. With the Digital Multi-Meter (DMM) set to the 10 Amp range, hook it between the negative (black) battery post and the battery cable you removed from the post. Then remove and replace one fuse at a time to see if the current drops below 1/4 Amp. When it does, that's the circuit to look up in your car owner's manual to see what accessories are on it. Look for courtesy lights on in the trunk with the trunk closed or in the glove compartment. Did you install after market accessories that may be drawing too much standby current? If no fuses stop the current flow, disconnect the alternator to battery wire. The alternator could be the culprit. Sometimes it's the vehicles security system or key pad that's the problem.

Some dealerships can install them. Also if you know of a place that sells and installs car speakers, and if they sell remote starters most likely they will also install them.
