Try to find owners/managers of popular restaurants in your community and see if they can give you suggestions as you
develop your plan. Incorporate their ideas and quote them in your
final paper.

I'm sure they can spare 10-15 minutes for you as long as you have a concise interview process and you are professional when you approach them. They may even be able to do this through email.

Restaurant marketing isn’t the same as it has always been. It is critical that restaurants embrace Internet marketing and cultivate a presence online. While “online” is the theme for many of the restaurant marketing tips I’ve listed in the next section, there is still much you can do offline to promote your business. Restaurants don’t use the yellow pages as much as they used to, and for good reason: people have moved to the Internet to find what they’re looking for. They use search engines and consumer review sites to find local restaurants and decide which they should give their money to. They want to see the restaurant’s menu before visiting and they favor those that have a strong online presence over those that haven’t embraced the Internet.

Hey Jasar,

I agree with most of the answers that digital marketing is the way to go.

However, we need to undersand the marketing fundamentals:

What target audience does your Restaurant speak to (eg. middle income family, high networth excutives, etc)?
What unique selling point your Restaurant have to RELATE to your target customer?

By undersatnding the customers you want to attract, you would know where to find them.

Then after that what I think you should focus on is how to connect with your community that your target audiences are in.

You don't want to give out flyers at a farmer's market if your target audience are people who don't believe in local grown food.

After you have this train of thought planned out, then you proceed to plan and apply the marketing techniques.

I believe depending on your target audience you would have an idea on what type of marketing suits your restaurant well.

Let me give you an exmaple. If your restaurant is trying to attract a younger crowd, then flyers, billboards might not cut it well for you. Social media marketing might work better.

Facebook marketing, getting on to the latest trend (eg. Restaurant chatbots like chatobook.com) would serve you better.

Don't worry if some of your marketing plan fails, it's all about trial and error.

So this is a school project? If it is, for the website I would just use something like geocities. Make a home page, then make a page with different items you'll serve, a to-go list, or a delivery service. For a billboard just get a poster size paper and some markers and make something. Find pictures on the internet and print them out and add them. Think of a good name for your resturaunt. For flyers, just use MS Paint (or whatever paint progream you have) and make a flyer (somewhat the same as the billboard) and print 5-10 of them, or however many you have to have for the project (enough to hand out to everyone in your class?). Think of something people use, and hand them out to. Maybe matchbooks (if allowed at school, *if it is a school project*)
and write your resturant name on them with marker, or pens/pencils. Something like that might work. Can't think of anything else right now.

Hope this was helpful,

Matt
