I like the Final Fantasy series & Wild Arms 1, for rpg playing with some strategy thrown in usually on sub-quests.
For 1st person shooter I like the Resident Evil series with RE4 as my favorite because of the games that open to you to play as you go along.
Those are probably my all time favs but I still like Star Ocean & some of the others in the rpg genre which happens to be where I play most. and if you're wanting a sprawling world the I recommend Morrowind as well (the Xbox has the smoothest controls, better than PC)

Fifa Street 1 on Xbox is was elite when it first came out. Although Halo 1 and 2 are both awesome
