Why didn't they leave?

Question

Remember all of those Hollywood Elitists that vowed to leave America in 2004 if Bush got re-elected? Why didn't they leave?

And why does so much of left wing America put more credence into the statements of people in Hollywood then in researching true facts?

I would really love to get some well thought out answers on this topic.

Ah, dog lover, you are a person after my own heart! Here's my theory.

People connected with Hollywood have publicity pumped out about them and the characters they play. It would seem that for many of them they begin to believe the hype about themselves.

The latest trend is that if you've ever been in a Hollywood film you are somehow now endowed with a keener sense of political awareness then the average person and are compelled to use your superpowers to set the rest of the world back on course to truth, justice, and the American Way!

One of my favorites in the lunatic parade is Angelina Jolie. Here is a woman who fits the dicitonary definition of the word whore, can't negotiate peace with her own father, but yet has the gall to run around in third world countries and tell them how to run their goverment. Then you have the peabrain has-beens like Madonna emulating her by stealing a kid from another third world country. What planet are these people from?

Then of course, you have the people without a life emulating and praising them because they were once "STARS!!!", until the next idiot of the moment pops out of the Hollywood machine.

Hrere's your real answer, since when has anyone in Hollywood told the truth. If you honestly beleived them then you are more idiotic than the ones that said they'd leave.

Celebrities are like politicians, liars and hypocrites.

I prefer to research my own ideals rather than just beleive what some TV program, Celebrity or worse politician tells me.

Just think of all the ads put out for the recent election, how many of them contained true facts. The vast majority of those ads had half-truths. But getting back on subject...

Those elitists said what they said only because it got them into the news nad their pictures in the paper that's all. There was never any intention of them leaving anything

So is the question, "why are hard core liberals and conservatives unwilling to live up to the wild claims they make"? I think common sense tells us that none of these statements are said with any intentions of fufilling them. To your other point, I think that hollywood is given a pass because they are in the entertainment business and not in politics (although the two seem to be sometimes very similar), and so they are not responsible to be factual or report to any authority so long as the statements are not libelous or slanderous, as if they were, litigation could be filed by the offended party.

I am sorry about the last elections. I know you must be disappointed.

Some of their statements do reflect true facts and they are rich and powerful enough to make these statements without fear of retribution from the right.

Their statements get publicity for the same reason that Limbaugh's do - they are rich and famous.

They did not leave because their statements were rhetorical, designed to draw attention to the fact that a number of Americans were extremely concerned about the effect of a second Bush term on our nation. Who would listen to Joe or Judy Q Public from Nowhere, Iowa??

For my edification would someone please define "Hollywood Elitists"? Also please identify the Liberal Media, especially Liberal Radio, I'd sure love to find some!!

I will answer the second question first :

The liberal agenda has infiltraded the minds of the masses and we have taken to Idology of the people that we see on TV. Proof... How is Paris Hilton even known, why do we care who is marrying who or who is having a baby. They are Idols. So when they say something you have to believe it in some minds.

Now why did they say what they did? Easy, their smart, they know this is the case so when they have an agenda they use outlandish statements to push that agenda praying on the Idology that people have subscribed to

My question is, why do the liberals accuse the conservatives of being racist while supporting liberal actors such as Michael Richards and Mel Gibson. As for the ones swearing they'd leave the country, that's nothing new. Thats to scare the libs into thinking their heros will be leaving, so they'll get out in vote. Have you ever gone back to GWB's campaign promises? Why didn't he keep them?

There are Hollywood types that say stupid things for Republicans too.
