No, the main reason is because of the short supply.
Instead, this year items like Nintendo DS Lite and Playstation 2 will be on sale to try and get people to buy things that are in high availability. As for the Wii, it might not even be available anywhere come Friday as it has sold out of many places and there is not a lot of time to restock...

No, most likely not. It takes about six months to a year for the prices of video game consoles to drop. I usually wait a year, myself, sometimes two.
