Certainly can, certainly should. Employer may report to state board. State board will discipline. Sometimes suspend pending treatment. Call your state Board for your states regs.

I think that nurse would be permanently blacklisted. I would hope that a nurse could hide his/her drug usage with everything that they are trained to know about medicine. Granted, they aren't doctors but they should know enough about illegal drugs to avoid getting busted in a drug test.

You shouldn't be allowed to hold a nurses licence if you are doing drugs. I wouldn't want some drugged up nurse taking care of me. I doubt anyone would. You should give it up.

Her nursing license is suspended and she has to go to treatment and meetings as well as stay clean for a period of time before her license is reinstated.

Yes, you will be reported and have your liscence suspended and there is a very good chance of loosing it indefinitly...
this is true for the State of Ohio and I am not sure about the other state laws
