Yes, I do. That's why I'm currently involved in opening a bookstore. There, I will not only "say" my views, but indicate them in a more graphic way. I expect to sell mostly used books, and will often have to buy them in boxes, unsorted, for cheap. As I sort them, I will put the ones I think are unworthy in a bin outside the door labeled, "Cannot recommend. 50 cents each." [If they don't sell after that, I'll donate them to the local thrift store. Or put them in the recycle bin if they are really bad, actually repugnant.] The books inside will have a price of half the original cover price, with a minimum of $1.00. Thus, by implication, the books that are inside are ones I CAN recommend.
Clearly, standing behind the counter, I'm going to be eager to get the question, "What do you recommend?" I'm also going to be eager for someone to hold up a book and say, "Do you know this one? What do you think of it?"
I'll be honest, but not brutal. I might cop out by saying, "I only skimmed it, but it seemed pretty good to me," if I really can't remember it. Or "Well, I haven't read that one, but I've read others by the same author, and I liked them." Because I don't expect to sell any book that's completely unfamiliar to me. It wouldn't be fair to my customers.

No. I sometimes feel like it is a personal choice to read certain books. If someone asks if I know any good books, I'll give titles or authors, but that's about it.
Of course school projects are different. Those weren't a personal choice and I know beforehand that I will be sharing reactions to those books.

Yes. I've read more than 6,500 books and learned just about everything I know from them. The only genre I have never been interested in is romance novels. I even learned to write books myself.

I do, especially if I found something of value in the book and would like to encourage others to read it.

I believe so. I like a variety of genres, except for horror, gay/lesbian, and some others. It also influences me what kind of books I want to write to.
