I have watched Seinfeld too long to let that influence my opinion. Michael Richards is still one of my favorite comedians. I'm sure there is a lot of pressure up there- as a stand-up comedian. The hecklers should have been escorted out before it escalated to that point. I'm all for intervening before anyone does something they will be sorry for. While no one should ever resort to saying hurtful racial things, the hecklers should have controlled themselves before it came to that. I'm sure Richards is not normally a racist or a hater. Anyone can be pushed too far. The issue is not race- it is a frustrated guy feeling backed into a corner.

Comments, such as the ones made by michael richards and some of those posted in this forum, just goes to show that there is a whole lot of hatred and ignorance. Unfortunately, nothing I can say will make people feel differently about how ignorance and stereotypes affect the daily lives of Blacks. I am a smart, beautiful, and caring individual. I come from a good, educated, and loving family. Not that it matters, but yes, my family is well-off too. But no matter the circumstances, people will always see Black.
Really, there is nothing in the world wrong with that because I am very proud to be Black, it is a blessing! But the judgements attached to Black, makes daily life hell for us. Racism will never die because we won't let it. I'm not mad at michael because he represents how the vast majority feels about Blacks.
I think this is a sad, sad world full of wars, animal cruelty, selfishness, and hatred. There is no point of banning the show Seinfeld, for what? What is that going to change? Absolutely nothing. I am fed up with racism, but banning a show or fighting hatred with hatred will not solve it. Racism, hatred, cruelty is a part of this world.

I never watched Seinfeld, but have always liked Richards. It's really too bad he blew his cool and went for the jugular. He'll have a hard time making up for this to his audiences, and I know his career hasn't been the same since Seinfeld ended. Hopefuly he'll move on, make amends, and find some good gigs before he settles into the old comedian's home.

I personally didn't watch Seinfeld often. But, the few episodes that I did get a chance to watch were funny because of Kramer.
As for now, words can't express my inner thoughts of his behavior. However, I don't dislike or hate him. I'm just wondering if he would have called a Caucasian a derogatory name if he would have heckled him?
Hecklers have existed for years in the comedy clubs and comedians usually handle it with much more restraint and grace, not in Michael Richard's case. It's sad.
And to address the posters who find it okay to insult the heckler because he was black is straight up wrong and your true color is showing.
America, America, America - the wound never heals in denial and disrespect.
Be blessed.

This would have no effect on weather I would watch Seinfeld. I rarely watch reruns of anything. But his remarks were made in anger and he was pissed. He said derogatory things at these people and why I don't know. I have seen black people who do behave like N word. But most don't. Just like there are Jews and whites and all manor of people who act poorly. The thing is Michael Richards lost control of his act and the stage. He had the mic so we could see him crumble and look bad in front of everyone. The only person he hurt was himself in doing this. But it will give Larry David something to use on his show. He took the heat off of Mel Gibson.

you should no longer provide an illustration of what you're speaking about for those human beings who do not get our information from television or different mainstream resources? (i have now heard a recording, yet giving an expurgated synopsis ought to were so as.) Unprofessional is the first be conscious that springs to concepts -- dealing with hecklers is area of the activity description. Racist, to say the least. (Why is it that once a White pulls the race card through lumping all Blacks into one classification at the same time as a Black human being p*ss*s them off, human beings accuse Blacks of pulling the race card? looks to me, he pulled it first. each man or woman is rightly indignant through his "comments" -- I ain't Black, and that i'm indignant.) Overblown? interior the experience that who cares what he says or does, if the media is masking this as an major information tale, then, definite -- established "information" fixation on minutiae. Are human beings's reactions overblown? No. It replaced into disgusting and sub-human. the guy merits to take a important occupation hit for it. Boycott Michael Richards. Patronize human beings, rather.

I won`t condone any type of racist behaviour! Why would I stop watching Seinfeld? They`re all reruns and Kramer wasn`t the whole show! His apology was about as sincere as Mel Gibson`s.

I think he snapped just a bit. I don't hate him I just wouldnt' go see his comedy routine especially if he makes racial remarks which I think is totally uncalled for and very innappropriate in this day and time. I think the man in the audience just kept running his mouth and adding fuel to the fire, which made Michael even more angry. Comedy is fun but racial slurs is not fun. He should keep those unwanted comments to himself. I will continue to watch the re-runs of Seinfeld cause he did Seinfeld before he did this routine. I think Micheal is a funny man when he puts his mind to it.

I am still really shocked by the whole thing. I was really disappointed that the actor that I really liked on Seinfeld could behave such a way.

Not at all, I love Seinfeld, and he is still pretty funny, I think honestly.. He did it just for some publisdy(sp), because I dont think he is too famous, but I have no idea.
Besides, every has there own story in this, its like 5 year olds trying to convince you who was right, I say we all just drop it and stop caring, not worth news, but the CNN video was too damn funny.
