Is it an automatic response to brown skin? Is it the least assimilated blacks? Do we have to act like Carlton form Fresh Prince, and straighten our hair? What about how we talk? Would you like us better if we all just abandon what little of our culture we were able to maintain, because that seems to create be a problem for you.

And I'm not asking really for my benefit, but for yours, I personally am not interested in people pleasing. I really wish you would read this quesion and really think about it. Think of how those sideways looks effect us. Imagine everytime you go into the store, reading the distrust in your faces. It really wears on us after a while, very exhausting.

And I know its not ALL white people- so if thats what you have to offer, keep it babe.

I haven't ever used the term "******".

The way I have always looked at is that anyone could fall under this stereotype, no matter the pigment of your skin.

I also haven't worried about the way anyone speaks. I do think that there are proper ways of conducting yourself in a speaking manner so that other people see you as an educated individual. It's not and hasn't ever been a color thing for me.

I’m just not what you would call a people person, and I worry mostly about those who are close to me.

Maybe I’m oblivious to everything that everyone keeps implying or maybe, these things aren't really happening and it's just those people who like dragging them up again to stir controversy.

LOL! Your question is quite ignorant. I have a feeling you're not really into a discussion, but blame. Still, I don't look at any african-americans and think they act like the N word. That's not a word anyone I know uses.

How you talk? Since when do all black people talk the same? There are educated black people, uneducated white people. Different social classes of all colors, and I think that affects how a person speaks a lot more then color.

And how is maintaining a culture a problem for us "white people?" I appreciate Asian cultures, Latin etc.

NO it's not the color of your skin. It's more of an attitude. If keeping your culture means speaking in such a way that makes you sound stupid as hell then I guess go for it! I don't know of any other culture that speaks and dresses in a way that makes everyone else feel afraid or think you people are stupid and then be proud of it. There is a reason most all other races don't like American blacks as much as other races, look to yourselves, because the answer isn't with everyone else!

Let me assure of something. It's not all black people. I don't use the term "******" I have noticed that it's not an insult when one black person is speaking to another. Don't tell me that you say "nigah" either because in the 70's Richard Pryor was saying"******". Some of the finest people that I know are black and the sorriest SOB's are white. Skin color really doesn't have as much to do with it as attitude. My godson is hispanic and I couldn't be more proud of him if I tried. His skin is brown. I will tell you what I don't like and I don't care what color you are. I don't like folks, especially healthy young people, who lay around on their collective asses all day long, won't work , and expect my tax dollars to foot their bills. I don't like seeing the same un married, unemployeed, welfare mothers(white, black, green, yellow, red purple, polka dotted or any other damn color) come in and out of the hospital I work in every calendar year to give birth to yet another child that they cannot afford to care for. I don't particularly care to hear the english language slaughtered. If you speak ebonics hey, good for you, but I think it is slang and I don't want my kids to talk like that. Ok, so that was racial profiling. That whole statement was just pure ignorance. Saying that all white people treat african americans that way is the SAME as saying that all african americans are thieves or untrustworthy. Even if you weren't referring to ALL white people, you are still makign assumptions, and really just sounding like an idiot.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "what little culture you maintained" because in case you haven't noticed, here in America we have holidays for many different nationalities. But you are probably too busy making ignorant statements to appreciate thigns like Black History Month and Martin Luther King Day. I see African American culture everywhere I look, and I appreciate it, just like I appreciate hispanic, and asian cultures. Maybe you should learn to appreciate cultures, and be thankful you live in a place where you are exposed to many different kinds of people and ways of life.

I honestly don't think that word is part of many "white" peoples vocabulary, and if it is, it is because of either Tom Sawyer, because they are really old, or because of black entertainment. If a white person uses the word I would bet it is most often done in a joking manner (although probably not funny), or in a fight. I think if one was trying to use the word in a technical sense, it would probably be referring to someone who is completely ignorant of everything around them.
