I have a limited budget and my Tower is not very room so an overly large card is not very pratical.

You should check on the software boxes at the store or that you bought and see what graphics cards they recommend. Remember to look in the Recommended section and not the Minimum Requirements section.

Most companies will test their games with particular models of cards and they tune the game accordingly. You will see games designed around the NVIDIA chip or the ATI Radeon chip.

You can then buy the graphics card that is most affordable to you and that will fit in the right slot in your system.

By the way...many of the systems nowadays have a slot designated for graphics cards, known as the AGP slot. If your tower's motherboard has this slot, any AGP card should fit in there. Otherwise, you need a PCI card slot available.

The best cards are going to be out of your range on a limited budget (not knowing what you are looking to spend). PCI express (PEG) is the better of the two. I have successfully used the geForce 6600 PCI-e for F.E.A.R. with all settings on high,but that was in SLi mode. You can get the card from newegg for like $50.00
