On a Sega Megadrive what buttons do....?

I finally found my Sega Mega Drive and it's still workiing but the only game I got is Street Fighteer 2, which I'm happy with anyway, I'm not looking for any more games. All I want to know is "What Buttons make Ryu do the Fireball?"

roll your thumb from the bottom of the directional pad to the left or right (depending on which way you're facing) then press punch
(A B or C default)
