I am sorry you have not worded you question correctly .I will guess your question. How to get electricity out of the generator?Am I correct if so . You have to use other means of power to drive the generator with the help of Petrol/Diesel/Gas-LPG or Cng which will help the engine to run and in turn rotate the Gen set which in turn will supply you electricity if it is A/C winding .as there are two types of gen sets one which generates DC current and later converts to A/C and the other which directly gives A/C . Hope this clears your doubt

A gen-set does not need electricity to it, it supplies electricity from it?
