cracker originates from the slaves days refering to a whip cracker or a slave driver/ owner. it is more meant to mean that you are still racist and treat black people poorly. i personally think it is not that big of a deal and there are was worse slurs out there.

I'm white and I'm going to start calling my friends crackers. Just because who gives a sh**. It's not racist, google "Louis CK - Being White" and everything will be clear.

Crackers are white (the original saltine kind)! Thus the term refers to white people (as does honky-a reference to white peoples more nasal vocal sound). I've never been called a cracker, but would probably would just laugh at it. Doesn't seem very offensive to me! I can think of a lot of other things that would be more offensive.

I went to an all black school and was called a cracker every damn day.....don't know th origin, but it's funny now that I am an adult....just shows the person who is using it's ignorance. I could justify being a racist (if I were One) bc of the way I was tormented my entire length of school...kinder to graduation but I am not going to let ANYONE have the power to change my view of myself...
