What did the Doctor or Nurse say or do?

Not once, but three times! The last three times I've had a physical I have gotten an erection. Let me say my doctor is female, very pretty, fun to talk to, and there are times when I have actually fantasized about her.
But in the physical all seems to go normal, you know, for the first 20 minutes. Then it's the time, the awkward time, when I have to bend over and she does her thing on the backside checking for prostate stuff. That is what has done me in three straight visits.
No matter how hard I try to think of other things, I get hard. I sort of bring my hand around to cover up but of course she sees and knows why.
She has been very good about it.She said thanks for covering but it happens sometimes with guys. That put me at ease. I was still embarassed, but less so. She said it was natural. I will say, though, that I sort of look forward to that part of the annual physical now.

Personally no, but a friend of mine gets erect every time he gets a complete physical. It isn't a sexual response though; more of a self-consciousness thing. Specifically, he is thinking of his genitals being fully exposed and his testicles being handled and that thought process brings it up. But he and his doctor are both used to that happening so they just carry on as normal.
Fact is, if the person seeing tries to ignore it and stares at the ceiling or out into space, it makes it even worse - as if there is somethign wrong with a penis gettign erect. Far better if they just look at it, make a comment if they feel it is appropriate and carry on with the process. My friend as actually happy that the doctor told him he is a perfectly normal guy in that department.

Strange indeed, was the doctor a sexy girl, maybe?!
Apart from the Prostate exam, where doctor put his finger in the as.s.hole - giving a consequential erection - the spontaneous phenomenon you referred is unusual. In fact the physical examination as like as any other public emotional situation, should block the sexual excitement while mind just is intent on different thoughts. A mate of mine - on the contrary - got hard in any public place and the only risk gave him excitement. Evidently, you could have the same abnormal behaviour!

I have found doctor's exams to be too clinical to get an erection. But when checking for prostate cancer I had a doctor request that I get an erection and this wasn't easy to do under the circumstances, but I managed.
But again it was strictly clinical and I soon lost my erection after the exam.
I do have a friend who found him self getting an erection while having a digital exam of the prostate, partly since he found the Asian woman doing the exam exciting ( he likes Asian women) and she just said not to be embarrassed that it often happens and she just ignored what happened.

it happened to me years ago on my first time. i asked the doctor to give me a minute before i stood up. he got the hint and said OK. when i stood up i was semi and i apologized ha ha. he said it was OK and that it was normal and most guys have it happen too.
since then, i can control it now especially waiting in that cold room in that paper robe!

they'll just say that it's ok and go om with their work. it's not like they've never seen a patient have an erection before

Oh my gosh thats has happened so many time before! THANKFULLY it went down right when my mom went out and it was just me and him. I always hate going and getting that done. Mainly cuz you know its coming. So I just erase it from my memory and then get it over with.

Never got one. during any physical.
Once a urologist tried to tell me to get hard for an exam. He gave me porno mags but they didn't work.
