My boyfriend is a Physical Education teacher at an elementary school. So most of his co-workers are female. When they have school functions the other teachers refuse to acknowledge my presence, even after he intruduces me. They seem very catty to me and I don't understand because I am a very outgoing person and I try very hard to converse, but they just act as if I am not there. I have even had a couple of them to walk in between us and embrace him and stand with there backs to me. Why would they react to me in this manner? I have never had this problem with anyone else in this kind of setting.

Well I can tell you, a lot of teachers and students have CRUSHES on the good looking, nice male teachers in their schools. They get to work with your boyfriend every day and have formed a bond of sorts. I know a teacher who is getting married with the hopes of getting all these women off his back. He just has that special charisma that every woman loves, is a nice person, and yet, says he doesn't like the attention yet can't help but be the type that draws it to himself.
Anyhow, your presence reminds them that their fantasy is UNREAL and they resent it...knowing his affections are all yours must eat them up. Imagine a celebrity when all his fans want him and then there is this chick by his side...grrrr...that is the way (some) women are...even teachers are catty.
So what you do is this...raise your head high...smile and SMIRK as if you know exactly what they are thinking because you do...and let confidence exume from you like toxic poison to their system.
Hey if you are going to get resentment, you may as well lavish in it and make it work for you!!!! LOL :~)
When people do things that are that rude walk away, pretend to get a drink, look at a painting or drawing...and then sneak up behind him and put your arms around his waist and interrupt them and say, Who drew that lovely painting over there? Change the subject, something that shows that you are interested in him and couldn't care less about them. Don't let them put you in your place...you put them in theirs. You have first dibs in his life and get that message across to THEM.
And I agree with the post before me here that you should tell him how you feel and that you feel he should be more aware of your presence at these things and get that message across to them. I know teachers want to look professional so they may not hold hands in public and all...but he should definitely keep you close to his side at these functions, at least when dealing with the likes of those women. You should act as if you belong too and talk to parents and children as if it's your school too. That is what I do because the school is my community too and I know the parents and as a parent, its our school too and we have a say there as well.

The only thing i can think of, They're Jellous! If you've never done anything wrong or offinsive to them, there's no reason not to like you, so thats pretty much the only other option! If i was you girl, i'd soak it in! Be happy with yourself that they seem to think you're better than them! That's a good thing!

for being a physical ed teacher, he must have a good body, must be in shape. them females must be jealous of u, but u should talk to ur bf & tell him that they're rude towards u, but, im quite sure he should notice that too, i mean if they walked in between u guys & their backs against u. that is rude & im quite sure u must feel uncomfortable in situations like that. Like i said, they must be jealous of u, but just talk to ur bf & hopefully he'll talk to them. . . good luck & dont let them get to u, just enjoy ur time with him.

I think they want your man. They cannot deal with the fact that he has someone and is happy. Their way of showing their disappointment is by ignoring you as if that will make you go away.

if ur bf is hot then they are jealous.....lol tell him how you feel and he should not tollerate their disrespect. dont worry about those ppl, my daughter's old school was like that to me and im her parent.....the genuine ppl will treat you with respect. and DONT give them the power to make you feel bad. just continue being urself, dont change for those ho-bags
