I think they should be avoided in the first place. There are so many ways to not get pregnant. I'm not going to start a list here but a woman that doesn't want to have a baby should be able to find a way not to get pregnant.
If that doesn't work out for whatever reason then I think a pregnant woman who doesn't want a baby should not be forced by society to have one. She probably would not be the mother of the year to an unwanted child.
Any case where there was a rape, incest, a genetic defect or serious drug use involved, an abortion should not only allowed but it should be encouraged.
We live in an overpopulated world with dwindling resources. We should be making fewer babies now.
Abortions are in most cases a bad thing. Birth control is the answer.

I believe it is murder. If you believe that life begins when the child is delivered, I have several ultrasound pictures of a 2 week old baby, you can see the heart beating. And I am exact on the age of the child due to the fact it was an invitro baby and date of conception is accurate. If you make the decision to have sex, you should step up and take the responsibility to have the child.

And please do not bring up the incest issue. I believe that is totally wrong, any man who does that should be neutered, period. Also, any child conceived from a rape is still an innocent child. If having the child will bring grief, why not adopt out the child, let someone else experience the joy a child can bring. Rape is wrong also, having been there myself, but the child did nothing wrong.

personally i'm against abortion. if a foetus could talk and defend HIMSELF he would surely say "mother don't kill me" there are so many women and couples who want a baby but just can't have one. this is one factor that encourages child traffic. on the other hand, there are some circumstances whereby abortion is justified. for instance if it is expected that the child will be born with some severe malformations that will make his life very difficult if not impossible then abortion could be allowed. if a woman has been raped and finds out that she is pregnant afterwards, this child will always remind her of the rape and will end up being a stigma though he is innocent. in this case abortion is the choice of the victim of the rape and whatever her choice it should be respected.

Abortion is not something that I agree with.

Some people say that it’s an individual’s choice to abort or not. I beg to differ. The choice comes in when you either choose to have sex or not? Protect or not? Be responsible or not? That’s where the choice comes in. Getting pregnant is the result of the choice that you chose. Aborting your result is not the answer to solving your problem of irresponsibility.

Now as for rape and incest victims, their choice is taken away from them. Therefore, they would have to choose to live with the result of pregnancy or not.

I am for abortions i think that children are not for everyone look at all tha stuff coming on now and days. Perfect example: a woman i know adopted this young girl a while back the girl was being molested by her father while her mother and younger sister (at that time the younger sister was 2) watched.the state finally came and took the children away and took both the mother and father to jail but after they were released she continued to havechildren back to back only to have them taken by DCFS and the girl (at that time she was five) was more experienced sexually than a grown woman in her new home with my friend they used to hear the girl at night moaning from playing with herself at age 5 she was having full blown orgasm's doctors had to give her medicines because she was so open in her anus and vagina. She use to try to molest my friends children trying to stick her toe in their vaginas. now she is 15 she is a little better but still a little off. And plus everyone does not know how to care for a child i'm tired of seeing nappy and dirty heads of hair dirty clothes dirty unhealthy kids period! KIDS ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE!

I think that if a person can sleep at night & live with themselves after the fact then they should be allowed to make that choice.

However, now that I am pregnant, I can honestly tell you that I personally think there's always another option...that I do disagree with abortion. All I can say is that it's truely an amazing experience to grow a tiny person...it's so cool to feel them move & to know that you are someone's world.

However, I have no right to force my beliefs upon people. I have no right to tell anyone what to do if it's not affecting me so in that sense, I am prochoice to an extent.

I couldn't live with myself, but if they can live with themselves I guess that's all that really matters. Though, I'd rather not know, b/c I'd be likely to look down upon them...b/c I know what it feels like to try for years to have a baby...so there is always another option to abortion.

I am against them but also against a law banning them.
I told my sons I better never know of any Grandchild of mine being killed. There are effective forms of birth control and abortions for birth control is wrong. You start a life you support a life or adoption.
I am against a law because it won't stop women from having them it will just drive it underground.

I don't agree with the women who use abortion as a form of birth control..If a woman was raped or molested and got pregnant as a result of this abuse I think it is that woman's choice.

They are unfortunate but sometime necessary. I don't think anyone wants to have one, it has to be one of the most heartbreaking decisions to make, but that is such a personal choice. No one deserves to have that power over someone elses reproductive system.

Women will still have them, legal or not. It should be available and safe. Control over ones own body is a basic right and I will fight for it. I control my body.

if someone was raped then i would say it was fine to have an abortion. i dont agree with abortion if they get pregnant but dont want a baby. they should use proper precautions it's not fair on the life they created, however small it is or not "classed" as a fetus yet. so basicly if someone doesn't want to get pregnant wear a condom!!
