It just seems strange- when a guy makes a nice gesture, esp. for a female, the female thinks the guy is after something, instead of getting the point of his being nice. It's like,"What do you want from me?" It should be,"Thank you so much.I really appreciate the nice gesture.Have a nice day." Anyone else realize this?

First of all it's not in the human nature to see the good in people. Secondly, u cant blame anyone man or woman for questioning gestures especially when it comes to a man woman relationship (especially if ur dealing with attractive members of the opposite sex). Like if a guy approaches an attractive lady and if the guy is attractive himself (or vice versa) the first thing on ur mind is usually not 'oh he's such a nice guy' it's usually where's the attached string or what does he/she want. Some people try to deny this NATURAL reaction and be like oh I didn't think anything of it. Granted, sometimes there aren't any hidden agenda's but unfortunately an evolution has occurred in the boy girl relationship world (partly thanks to the media) so u just gotta go through the whole process. Prove to whoever it is ur interested in that ur sincere and see if it works out.

Cynicism, movies like "Borat," general rudeness and insensitivity, scheming politicians have all led people "in general" to expect the worst in others. But, once in a while, you meet the exception.

When someone has been hurt or burned in a relationship, it may lead to the attitude you describe, unfortunately. Please don't let that dissuade you from performing kind and thoughtful gestures. There certainly is a dearth of them!

If you are worse than me then I am better.

Its like racism, the only reason you are a worthy race is because of an unworthy race.

You can thank their mother for that sort of behavior. Sounds like she was raised by a scorn family.
