Ever since the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989, our world has become the information age rather than the industrial age.

This means that speed is more valued than strength. Which explains why the people who has lived during the industrial age complain about fast pace of society today.

The truth is, you need to be moving in the 5th gear to succeed and live in this very expensive society.

Or

You can choose to live in a rural community where life is more slower and competition is not in the vocabulary. I highly recommend people with a Type B personality to live in such way whereas, Type A people will be restless.

Hi >
If you are heading this under philosophy,.Do not get me wrong, this is freindly, as I have made an effort in my life-time to answer things Best that I can.
I have not in this life got the time to fiddle on with silly questions, such as " How do I plug in in a 123 to a 345".
Well. read the manual.
Nice to have a sensible question..
I am not in a rush.
I wake around 8 am, wash, dress & whatnot, then hit my little office to design things.
Perhaps a bacon sarney for brunch, and an hour down the pub with my mates for a game of pool.
Hardly a rush, back for a couple of hours in front of this thing, the odd meeting in London. A week on the old narrowboat.
RUSH?
What rush?
Folks get it wrong. I guess.
Bob.

Life is too stressful! Rushing for school, work & other errands. During rush hour everybody is in a hurry! Everyone is rushing because everybody seems to be coming out of their house at almost the same time!

I guess that there are two main reasons and the conflict between them: people are responsible for several issues and they are, at the same time, interested in several issues, too. If there are too many responsibilities and interests simultaneously, people tend to be a hurry.

A solution may be to simplify ones' life and focus only on important items. But it is so difficult today: you get stimulation, information, claims, suggestions, proposals, questions e.t.c. everywhere...and closing of your eyes and ears may lead to a situation where you could miss something very important and interesting...

You should have said "nearly everyone" instead of just everyone. I am a Southerner. I believe life in the Southern counrty is a slower pace than most of the USA, thank God! I think, many people are in a hurry because they don't know what is REALLY important! They think it is about "one more shiny thing", more, more, more...... that is what will make them happy. Rush, rush, run, hurry, hurry....too bad people don't get what is REALLY important!

I think it's due to fear-based thinking. Especially in parts of America who have deluded themselves to thinking they really can be the thinnest, the richest, the cleanest, etc. The sooner you come to terms with the fact that there will ALWAYS be someone out there who is thinner, richer, cleaner, etc, the sooner you can come to peace and quit punishing yourself.

This is a very complex question, to which, I have only been able to answer one facet.

Most people in life are so busy they forget its value, and how short their amount of time here really is.
Its a sad story, but true.
People need to stop holding back and just live life like there is no tomorrow sometimes.

not enough hours in the day...you have to rush to get everything done! Maybe we should lesson our work load so as not to rush and spend more quality home life... But can't or I wouldn't be able to afford a home.

Not everyone is, it depends on where you live. Its a pain as we all have too much to do and not enough time to do it. I think we should all have to work less that way we would be more relaxed.
