I must have been about 6 years old, and to begin with, I only knew two speeds:full blast and complete stop lol.

I was 5. I couldn't get the hang of it in Nova Scotia... mom and I went on vacation to Newfoundland. She told me that I would be able to learn in Newfoundland because of the time difference.
(Newfoundland is half an hour ahead of Nova Scotia. Mom told me my body was on NS time, so even if I fell down, it wouldn't hurt until half an hour later, if at all.)
I believed her, and learned to ride on the streets of St. John's.

uh without my training wheels I think i was 7 a few months after that I ended up crashing into a tree and chopping my arm in half, the bone was sticking out, it was a real lovely experience. Just thought I'd share lol
