I am retired. I retired young. I lived all over the world but I came back to live in Texas on an island in the Gulf of Mexico because I love it here and I was born in an East Texas town. Something about Texas - everyone loves it here where I live on the beach
I get up late about 10 am. I have tea and some cheese and bread or an omelet and let the dog out and feed the fish in the pond.
Start the laundry, etc.
I make my husband's breakfast usually muffins or cake or some biscuits - the Southern baking powder biscuits - he loves them for breakfast and I make very good ones.
I get on my computer to read emails, news, etc.
I shop on Ebay or look at the morning programs for news. Sometimes I sell on Ebay too. I used to sell all the time but I had a stroke last year; I am doing fine now.
My husband gets up around noon - he likes to sleep late. He had cancer three years ago so he tries to get his rest and he exercises and eats healthy meals. He reads his email, eats his breakfast and goes in the garden to work or takes the dog to the beach and goes by the post office to get the mail - we get delivery but he likes to go to the post and talk to people
We might go shopping or we do some volunteer work at the medical center and the historical center. We also work for our church and we do a lot of work at the food pantry our church maintains for those who fall through the cracks of the welfare system or who just need some help to get over and illness or life crisis
We do the shopping together and we do almost everything together.
My husband usually does the vacuuming and scrubs the floors because I am not good at that and he is Mr. Clean. I was a career woman so I am really bad at cleaning because I always had help to clean the house but I am an exceptional cook - which makes up for a lot in my husband's eyes because he is French
We both used to travel for our careers but now we like to stay home and our home is a lovely old Victorian cottage by the sea.
I make lunch - usually we have some sort of salad, soup or casserole, rice dish or pasta -we get a lot of fish and seafood here because we are right on the Gulf of Mexico
Occasionally, we eat out if there are restaurant specials. We don't like to eat in restaurants much because I can cook things much better.
We eat and sometimes we take a nap or go shopping.
We eat supper quite late by American standards around 10 pm - We have a meat - usually chicken or lean beef - perhaps lean pork - a starch potatoes, pasta, rice and some vegetable dishes
We watch some TV and play games on line
We both keep blogs and my husband has two great historical web sites he keeps.
We go to bed usually around 2 am
Americans work very hard and have very little free time because employers do not like to give people time off and the government will not make laws about work holidays and sick leave an vacation, etc. - so the working person gets no relief and has to work hard all the time
We are lucky, my husband was a stock investor all his life and I saved a lot of money from my jobs, so now we can take it a lot easier than most folks
We worked really hard all our lives and now we enjoy our retirement
Most Americans are in terrific debt and never get out of debt so in a way we are slaves to the system and our possessions.
The American system of credit is a killer

I'm a brown Latino, but I have white friends, so I feel qualified to comment. Oddly enough, they seem to have the very same everyday life as I do. They wake up, get dressed in clothing similar to mine, they eat breakfast and go to work. Around noon, they get hungry again and eat lunch and return to work. At the end of the work day, they go home and eat dinner, maybe watch some TV, or read a book. Around 10PM, they go to bed for sleep and repeat the whole process over again the next day.

I live in California, i dont waste too much time getting ready in the morning. I work at a real estate office from 8am to 5pm. When i get off work i cook and drink beer with my boyfriend and friends. We will usually go somewhere to see some bands play or walk to the beach or play video games. On weekends i try to pack my days with as much as possible, i try to walk around town and go to the beach and hike and ride my bike. I think my everyday life is pretty good.

hey. i'm in america. i have two jobs...i watch my 3 neices every day (monday - friday) from 7am until about 4:30pm, then I go home, and if I have to work that night (my 3rd shift job, which i only work 3 nights a week), then i try to go to sleep for a little while, but if i dont sleep, i get online or hang out with friends, then the nights I work i have to be there at 10:30pm and get off at 8:30 the next morning. my other sister watches my neices until i get there the next morning. i work my 3rd shift job every other weekend, and the weekends i dont work i just hang out...do laundry, whatever needs to be done. pretty boring ...and i still never have money!!!! =)
