First, kudos on joining us on the information highway and getting your own computer. This really helps keep you in tocuh with others and lets you learn and experience new things, even at 62.
My mother was born in 1944 and used to do typing at an office, but is so afraid even to hit a key on the computer. I tried to ease her into it once, but she is just too nervous.
As for games, as others have mentioned, you can use online games at Yahoo! Games and can download copies to use at your home for free, although some only allow a certain trial period.
You can also check at www.shareware.com or www.tucows.com for products called "freeware". A shareware game is something you can try before you are expected to buy it. A freeware game is one that is given out for free.
Just be careful of viruses and spyware. You may want to get a good copy of a package to protect your PC from these malicious packages if you will be downloading any games or software that is out there. Products like AdAware, Norton AntiVirus, and Penicillin are helpful to protect you so your experience is a pleasant one.
