why can't other people accept the fact that being gay is a part of the society today, even long ago.?? a friend once told me that being gay is not something to be ashamed of, and not something to be proud of, yet i said, if you wont be proud of what u are and who u are no one else would, and if u are ashamed of yourself, everybody else would feel the same..

Fear of what they don't know or understand, ignorance.... its very sad

Because things that people don't understand are quote on quote harmful to them, and because they don't understand or care to understand they instantly get scared and they automatically start to judge the cover of another person as well as their personal life as though they've never done anything that society didn't approve of. The world has to understand that a person is human and that every individual in this world even internationally is different and always will be different.
I don't fully understand the reason why society is so judgemental, maybe because they are scared of Diversity and things that dare to be different. At one time, society was afraid of sex and the power it had until some people came out and stood up for it. And for a fact I'm in school right now and I go through the same **** everyday. I'm bi-sexual and the girls in my school actually believe that bi- sexuals go around turning out straight girls. In all actuallity, most of the lesbians and bi- sexual females are NOT looking at their stupid homophobic assess... It's crazy.

Because you want to do what a man and a woman were made for and diminish heterosexual institutions for "your rights"

Marriage is between a man and a woman. Has been for thousands of years. It is based on a Biblical tradition, never been instituted between anything other than a man and a woman. Next, others will want the right to marry three people, their brother and their dog and some of these issues have already been pressed, because its "their right".

Babies are made from male and female. Having 2 moms or 2 dads is innately not a family institution.

Your rights stop when our rights are infringed upon.

People are always judgemental about whatever is different than themselves. take islam for instance, a religion that has been judged as a cult breeding ground for maniacs wanting to go to nirvanna with 40 virgins. That is the farthest thing from the truth, but that is what is percieved by many.

Well I for one like or dislike people by the way they treat myself and others and gay does not enter into it. I have a gay family member and gay friends of both sexes. People are people.
And I think you will get a lot of not very nice answers...so just remember it is only some of the more ignorant people who judge you for your gayness.

I think your friend is right but as to why people are judgemental it is just the way it is the same way as being coloured in the wrong part of town or foreign in the wrong country or German on holiday in Israel or being a cop for a living ect ect ect

People are not judgemental no one cares what you do behind closed doors but when gays want to marry and degrade what marriage is all about that is when people have a problem.

being gay could be the way you are made, but so is being short sighted, deaf or having bad teeth, it's a variation from the standard male human that could be described as a natural error, but nothing to be proud of.

DON'T PACKAGE ALL PEOPLE TOGETHER.

MANY PEOPLE JUST DON'T LIKE BEING FORCED TO ACCEPT SOMETHING THAT THEY DON'T APPROVE OF.

CHANGE DOES NOT OCCUR 100% OVER NIGHT..
GAYS WON'T BE TOTALLY ACCEPTED FOR A LONG TIME YET.

FAR BETTER THAN THE 50' AND 60's
