Coming from an asian background, i find that many asian people are prejudice against black people. for instance, it is highly frowned on when an asian marries a black person, but when it is a white person or far-east asians it is not that big a problem. Also, asian people strive to have fair skin and look down on those that are darker then them. This is mainly from my experiences. any asians here with comments?

These racially involved questions - can get pretty BORING.

Ok, everybdy be rational and stop people with this 'I am not a racist' (Crap). We are all racists, we are ll bigots and homophobes in our own way. The sweet and nice people that are all on Yahoo Answers! that ask or answer this question are even racists themselves but probaly in a 1% type of way as oppose to a redneck racist with about 98% racism in him (mentally). The thing is with every group as know one wants to die out - I know that some less educated whites must be shcoked whgen they find out they are not the most populus in the world compared to Asians. As for Black people (us) we have got way to much problems - we are the most hated, mocked (music, history of blackFace), we the most looked down upon, the most for bad role models, the most for attacking our own rather than sticking up for one and other and being better, I can go on and on and on.... F**** this all the other races are laughing at us, look at the Chinese - they know what they doing with certain African nations.

As for Asians I can't say much as they are different Asians (oriental, western etc.) and that would be 'generalization' - which is another word I see keep popping up on these RACE questions of Yahoo Answers! - People to quick to sound decent and 'non-racist' when these problemns exist and have to be addressed (in every race).

I tell ya what - All you F****er's on these types of questions both answering and questioning go to the toilet and take a huge S**** and let it all out (yes females that includes you to).

Asians by far and here is why: - The Media constantly tries to give off the notion that our own women want White men more than they want us - We get portrayed as being feminine and our women get portrayed as being submissive - Nasty stereotype about Asian males out there having small ones, it is a stereotype - The media RARELY gives any Hollywood roles to Asian actors, and if so it is the same ones like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan - In real life Asian people face so much out loud in the open type racism, say something racist to an Asian and nothing will happen, no one will stick up for them - Asians get royally screwed by immigration, while it is common for Asian immigrants to be sent back to their own country when they come here legally, Latinos get to stay here at higher rates - Asians barely have any support group, Latinos have La Raza and Blacks have the NAACP and Black Panthers, what do the Asians have?

This goes back a long way .In the late 60's and 70's when we were fighting skin heads and then the NF the Asians didn't want to know .Because we were fighting back .they took the whites side verbally that is .And said we were trouble makes .And wouldn't let their kids play with us but it was ok for their kids to play with the white kids .Well guess what a lot of the skin heads and us became friends .With a lot of black guys becoming skin heads .the love of ska and reggae had something to do with that .And the fact that we weren't easy push overs .A lot of bridges were built and bonds formed .And i think in general black and white get on .Now you have young Asian kids confused some want to be black mainly the guy .And the girls want to white .With some wanting to be themselves .But it's hard for them to fit in because their parents parents kept them in a closed world .And to some extent they are still living in a closed world ..This may not be quite what you were asking but it's my view

Is is because they feel intimidated by Black people and the general stereotype of the african-american man is that of a hoodlum who robs the little asians off their hard earned money by waylaying them on the dark streets and sometime even gangs of black people trying to abuse these hapless people se****ly.

first of all... I think the blacks that Hana is talking about are African-American ones... not every black person is from there... black people come from all over the world and are influenced by different things...

I have very close asian and middle-eastern friends... and I do have to say that for the most part its not a color issue that'sa problem in marriage... its more about culture. I am African, and I know that I will marry an african... not just any, but one from my country and one who speaks my language.. my friends have told me the same thing too... Most african, asian, and middle-eastern countries value their cultures, customs and beliefs... and these are somewhat lost when intermarrying occurs.

I am asian and I can't say that I'm prejudiced against black people. I think what you refer to are very traditional views from times when people were ignorant and frightened to embrace people that they regarded as different to them. I would hope that people had moved past these prejudices by now.

I have an Asian roommate and we get along fine. I also have a friend whose mother is Asian and her father is black so I think you are making strong generalizations.

im part asian, here in california i dont see too much of it because its alot more diverse. though opinions can be kept to themselves i'm sure. i had no idea my moms best friend (korean) had looked down upon blacks when it came to relationship wise.. i'm not sure if skin color had anything to do with it. however she felt it was more of the attitude that was given. she doesnt seem so fixated on having a lighter skin color though, she got along with blacks still. so in my experience, i've seen veryyyyy very little look down on people with dark skin

I'm asian. I think that it's also a matter of what television shows us. Like how so many black people are portrayed in the media (and sorry to say, often portray themselves) as gangsters. So many places in Asia, including where I'm from, are so conflicted with riots and all, and many of us feel that we don't need an extra provocative figure to add oil to the flame. Especially in our Asian cultures which are so bound to traditions, outrageously rebellious and extravagant figures aren't taken well (like loud and flashy hip hop artists. don't get me wrong, i like them fine), especially in times of conflict like now. Asides from physical preferences, white people are more known to be accepting of "exotic" cultures such as ours, even if that's not always the case.
