What are the signs of one becoming a serial killer?

My friend said she has had bad thoughts about killing people for ages.

Holy Crap that's dark! Well, lets see. I'd surmise they would want to be alone a lot because otherwise there'd be witnesses. They'd be a degree of detachment to the suffering of others and this would be something that I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to turn on and off so it would be a manifested element of their character. They would have to be some cruelty to weaker beings, either humans or animals, probably animals because they couldn't tell. That would be part of too, being secretive and all that slinking around creepy stuff.I think they'd have a void of emotion as well, they may get angry or feel jealous of others but they wouldn't have the love or humour that regular felling humans have. Extreme narcissism could be a part of it too. I think these creep shows do become, as apposed to being born a certain way, the tendency can be there but they develop into this state. Wow, I hope Your friend isn't the real deal; You may want to tell someone; like the cops. Even if they think Your nuts they may open a file on this person just in case and check them out a bit. I hope this is fancy on Your part, if not then You could be in real serious danger; because You know something they don't want other People to know. Think ahead and protect Yourself!

some of the other answers have good pointers, but to state that one is born a serial killer is not entirely true....im sure that people can become serial killers as much as i am sure that people are not born accountants, daddy d i think you might have watched minority report to often.
the best thing for you to do is to sit with your friend and talk to them aboyut there feelings and then if you are sure that they are serious then you may want to subtley suggest that they see a counsellor. of course if you fear this person and i mean really fear them then you should speak to their parents or the local authority.

Reports on serial killers tell us they are very cleaver people at disguising the fact that they do kill, that is why they get away with killing more than once. So signs may be difficult to detect.

i became shocked that as a Pisces male, i'm joint 2d with Scorpio, sure I knew already that Capricorns carry grudges and are very calculated so as that they recognize ways they are going to kill somebody and can be chilly and unsociable like a robotic from time to time. i became additionally shocked that Sagittarius became next, i assumed they may be down low on the checklist with Aries. I surely tend to allow issues flow, however the sole reason for me transforming into a nutcase serial killer may be if I lost it thoroughly, or had a fulfillment checklist of human beings i needed the appropriate revenge on. purely like Kill invoice. yet i will image Scorpio or Capricorn being an murderer, no offense, yet vengeful anger and organised crime the two relate to assassination.

you can't predict these things.. but the academics say serial killers are born... not made...

no i wouldn't worry about your friend.. they're just stressed out.

serial killers.. YOU can tell.. first of all they're not nice to animals as children.. (some) have strange habits... interests... mostly in the flesh... bones... some have been known to kill animals and collect their bones... so on.. some go further unfortunately... such as edward gein... he liked to wear women's flesh... of course you can pretty much figure out how he obtained that process.

and dahmer.. he killed animals as a kid.. would clean their bones and keep them... so on...

tell her to get a life. everyone has bad thoughts about murdering other folk, etc. If we were all pleasant and nice all the time in our minds, then it would be a strange world.

you only have to worry if she puts these thoughts into action.

most serial killers start by killing small animals. so if her or your pets start dying, get worried.

Most serial killer profiles are men, not women. Since you have a sense something is wrong, you should suggest your friend talk with a psychologist or counselor to find out what is troubling her, discover where the anger is coming from, and how to cope with it.
