i am 26 my husband is 43. we have been together for 5 years.
we have friends aged between 20 - 60.
i think people who make nasty remarks about it are just narrow minded w+nkers with a large lack of life of their own.
my husband and i were sat in what we thought was a lovely little pub (so much so we had booked to have our Christmas dinner there) and my husband went off to the loo, and a guy (who was sitting with his mate behind us) came over and started chatting to me, when my husband came back and i intruduced him as my husband (in a friendly way) this guy and his mate started getting nasty calling me a gold digger, and my husband a paedophile, a pervert and a cradle snatcher.
that in my mind is just downright evil!
we have since cancelled our Christmas dinner and booked up elsewhere.
i don't judge anybody for anything.
who the hell am i - or anyone to to that?
everyone is an individual with there own opinions.

in most cases I would say age differences are no big deal or issue. I think it can be a good thing......but, one must be care full when having friends under 18 and over 55. you and your friends may be ok with a 20 or 30 year age difference, but sometimes families or parents can get sort of freaky about it. I have a friend that is about 20 years younger than me....and was attending college out of state....she decided to leave school and pursue a dream of being an interior designer. Her family flew into a rage....and accused me of influencing her.....even though, we never spoke of her leaving school...her parents called the out of state cops.....her older brother was an attorney and made all sort of threats...... I took a long time to sort things out.....but ever since I have been very cautious with becoming friends with people much younger and or older.

I first learned to appreciate the elderly when I was on a dart team. We'd go from pub to pub playing other teams. We had people as old as 75 or so and they were as much fun as anyone.

I've been on vacations where I've befriended girls and guys in their late teens/early 20's and feel right at home with them. Everyone just wants to have fun and age (young or old) doesn't prevent you from being a part of it.

Variety is the spice of life! The enthusiasm of the young stops you from acting old, and older people can be so interesting. Both can learn from each other. You are a good person to have around, as you go by how people are. Bet you can throw a brilliant party!

When it comes to good friendships, age does not matter. I am 40, and have friends as young as teenagers, and as old as in their 80s. I love each of them for who they are inside. The older ones can teach me about their history, and the younger ones can teach me new things.

Yeah ageism is a huge thing. Especially for women. We are supposedly (by society) damaged good in our mid 30s, 40s, which is crap cause look at Hugh Hefner (like 85) and his bevy of beautiful 20 year olds. It's not fair. And it's STUPID.
