No need to retake the SAT. Just apply at the college of your choice, depending on your SAT score, and take classes for elementary or secondary education. If you want to be a Spanish speaking math teacher, take Spanish as a minor. Go to the college website for application requirements and have your transcripts sent to them. That is a good start to your future college career and degree. Good Luck.

It will take you a while but this is a goal you can definitely achieve.

Go to the local community college in your area and ask them to tell you about their programs. They are used to having students who have been out of school for a while before they start college. It is not a big deal.

They can tell you about how the courses of study work and what courses you need to take to get your degree and teaching certificate.

You can study to be a Spanish teacher, but I think that if you took the courses to become a math teacher, that would be awesome. You would have a MUCH better chance of getting a good job as a bi-lingual math teacher than as a Spanish teacher.

Go for it !

You can go to the local high school and ask for form to apply to the different colleges. I don't think you have to take the SAT again as it has only been a year. I think you will have to take Spanish classes, You would need to know more than just speaking it.

Well, you could start as early as THIS JANUARY!!!
The most economical way to do this would be to enroll in community college
DO THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!
Even if its only one class, they have to take you, that's why there is community college!
You have some bigger decisions to make:
Do you want to teach at elementary, secondary, or undergraduate?
Do you want to continue at Comm College as long as you can before you transfer to a university?

There will be more to decide, but once you get going, momentum will take you
I would love to think you would be a math teacher for dual language students or adults who English is a second language

Good Luck

If you want to teach Spanish, you'll probably have to go to a languages program and Spanish (college level) will most likely be included. If you have SAT scores on record you probably will not have to re-do them.

If you know where you want to go, just look up their website and go to their admissions page. All of the instructions for applying will be right there.
