Normally I would convert everything to ounces, and then work the problem out, and then convert it back to pounds/ounces.
1 lb = 16 oz
66lb = 16 * 66 = 1056oz
8lb 7oz = (16*8) + 7 = 135oz
1056oz - 135oz = 921oz
921 / 16 = 57 with remainder of 9 = 57lbs 9oz

multiply 66x16 then multiply 8x16 add 7 to the answer of 8x16 then subtract the lower amount from the higher amount then divide the total by 16 and that will give your answer. 66x16=1056 8x16=128 128+7=135 1056-135=921 921 divided by 16 = 57..9

If you convert everything into ounces, it makes it a lot easier.
66 pounds = 1056 ounces
8 pounds 7 ounces = 135 ounces
1056-135=921 ounces or 57 pounds 9 ounces.

You didn't take into account that there are 16 ounces in a pound. 7+9=16

do this
66 lbs - (8+7/16) lbs....... because 1 lb = 16 ozs
resolve to get (1056-135)/ 16 = 921/16 which is 57 lbs 9 ozs.

if this helps better in calculation
