I believe this has become a forum for people to argue about things. The lack of understanding and diplomacy on here is astounding. Is it possible to have a political discussion without calling names? Or are people just too far removed from decency that a simple discussion cannot be had without someone being an instigator?

Justin you are right. I think that any forum that doesn't screen its members is destined to become a useless cesspool of idiocy and personal attacks. Yahoo answers never was and never will be a forum for obtaining useful information or exchanging ideas. Instead it is a playground for chuckle heads.

Now having said that, I must admit that I am guilty of contributing to the degradation of this forum. You are welcome to play if you want, just don't expect any enlightenment here.

Peace, bro.

No. It should be a discussion forum to gain insight about something. Half the questions people ask can be found on wikipedia. Alot of answers people post are very juvenile. But I guess that's what you get when it's mostly 15 year olds on here.

I have become angry many times.
Yet I have expressed very strong opinions without holding back, that could have made another livid!
The purposeful rudeness I could do without.
This is how people think, and act, in modern America - a very broad spectrum - and what one needs is there if you can leave the rest where it is.
We all function through our personality, the only way that we can. I disappoint people, and sometimes I save people, two aspects of me.

Agreed, also there are far too many kids here posting stupid comments about the latest teen idol that they have a crush on.

it depends on the question and the person that is answering. it has also turned into a place to rant and rave (hint hint) sometimes only the question need to be asked with minimal background info...rather than a whole blog of every detail

I have asked some serious questions and got really good answers - so I guess it all depends on the question!

i would not rely on Y! Answers for anything important, but it does get you pointed in the right direction so you can go else where and figure out what really happened or is happening

it is what it is - my only concern is Yahoo isn't doing their part - like READING abuse reports and removing spammers in a timely manner
