You need a vacation.......seriously! Being stressed out only adds to your feeling disgusted.
What I do when I feel like I don't want to clean is this; I set a kitchen timer for 15 minutes and get going! It sounds crazy but you CAN get a lot done in 15 minutes. Instead of looking around at a big mess, break it down into smaller jobs so you don't get overwhelmed.
Multi-task too! While your dinner is heating up, straighten up the kitchen. Hang up your coat while you listen to your messages on the answering machine. Straighten up the living room during commercials, stuff like that. I got a portable phone with a headset so I could straighten up while I was on the phone.
Last of all, discipline yourself to put things away as soon as you are done using them!

I had to attempt extremely some forms of clutter catcher mats till now i stumbled on one that worked nicely. I additionally saved the cat container in a spare bathing room, with the mat in front of it, so she'd lose lots of the clutter in that room. It worked extraordinarily plenty. no longer something is fool-evidence. One warning: cats can get finicky approximately utilizing the clutter container once you alter clutter varieties. in case you DO replace the clutter, make certain to do it progressively- blending the recent stuff in with the previous till finally there is greater new than previous. I forgot to try this one time, and my cat beginning the two spraying the returned of the container or going outdoors the container to vent her displeasure. The container wasn't grimy; I wiped sparkling it scrupulously each and every week. while the habit began, i began out studying this subject count number, and found out (too late) that I had replaced her clutter sort too unexpectedly. There was once a brilliant product observed as CatPaper - absorbent on one section, water-repellent on the different - that became into much greater effective than the clutter mats, yet they have long previous out of economic corporation. The hyperlink under is for one possible substitution. wish it facilitates!

Some else just asked this type of question.
Get a basket.. pick a room.. one room and clean it. Anything that doesn't belong in that room gets put in the basket. Then when done, distribute the items to their proper rooms/places. You have finished a room. be proud.. then continue... to the next room. until you are done your apartment.. then consider getting maid service every other week. or, keep doing the basket in a room concept.
Start with dishes and the things to be filed in the circular file (aka trash can).
Oh, and I always liked the idea of having a house cleaning party. The work gets done way faster and with chit-chat, it doesn't feel so horrible getting to the end of clean. In future, think living minimalistically.

You must get a routine going. First, if you work all of the time it shouldn't be messy, because youo're not there to mess it up. You just have to pick up behind yourself when you are at home. It may be a good idea if you have a female friend that could come over and unpack you and help get you situated.

hello holly,
This is normal, if one has just moved in an apartment, you have yet to get things straightened out. This is why the pathway is so narrow. Once things get put in its right places you should be able to get around again. Just remember this takes time. Ask if you can get more time off to get things straightened out.

Ask some friends to come over one night and help you and order some pizza for them for helping. You will be more productive if you have people there helping you instead of trying to upack a little here and a little there.

First dejunk. Anything that has spent a year in a box can't be that important. Send it to the Salvation Army. Then it will be easier to clean.
